The competition of the Foundation for the Protection of Birds of Prey for the best photo of birds in 2023 “Birds in Action” is unique in the region with the theme of birds seen through the eyes of photographers. So far, 211 authors with 2191 works have participated in these competitions. The photos show 322 species of birds from all continents, including the rarest birds in the world. The idea of this beautiful competition is to raise awareness about the exceptionality of the birds that surround us and the importance of the need to preserve them.
39 authors with 154 works participated in the XVIII competition, which confirms the great trust and support of photographers for this noble idea, for which we are immensely grateful. A great diversity was recorded in the photographs with 87 species of birds.
The jury had a difficult task to single out among the submitted works special works to which it wants to draw the public’s attention. In addition to the three awarded photos, the jury praised two authors for the works they sent. 32 photos were selected and will be shown at the exhibition on December 15 at the Center for the Promotion of Science, Kralja Petra 46 in Belgrade. The most successful works will be used to make the 20th calendar of the Foundation for the Protection of Birds of Prey for the year 2024, which is intended as a catalog of the exhibition.
